Worm fertilizer, which is 100 percent organic fertilizer, is produced in the worm fertilizer production facilities prepared by Odunpazarı municipality to prevent the increasing soil pollution as a result of the use of chemical fertilizer. Odunpazarı Municipality plans to use worm manure as a solution in the recycling of fruits and vegetables that go to waste and in the recycling of animal fertilizers, which are a serious problem in rural neighborhoods. In July 2017, 3 million worms were reached at the worm fertilizer production facility, where production began with 500,000 Red California worms. The worm fertilizers produced at the worm fertilizer production facility were used in the TUBITAK trial study at Orhan Oguz high school, while the field trial study was carried out on cereals in the Kalkanli neighborhood.
